By popular demand... The Hunger Games!

I suppose one person could be considered "Popular Demand". :) I read this book over the summer and really enjoyed it; I can't wait to read the sequel (Catching Fire, on our shelves now) when I get a free moment! That's all I will say for now; Analie and Joel, take it away and I'll jump in later.

I really enjoyed The Hunger Games, too. Not what I thought it would be about... I jumped right into Catching Fire and highly enjoyed it. What an ending - cliffhanger!

Oh, I actually found The Hunger Games! Yay! It was hiding in my mom's room....

Ah, you're lucky, I had to wait for almost two years for Catching Fire after The Hunger Games...

I really enjoyed the suspense of The Hunger Games, I thought it had a great plot and interesting characters to go along with it. :)

One of the best things I liked about The Hunger Games is just the whole idea of the competition. It might have been done before, but not that I have heard of and for me it was exciting and new; always keeping the story moving. I also found the characters interesting to read about, although I was starting to find it harder to remember which character was which and from which district when we really got into the games.

Oh, to add in something, I think that Katniss is one awesome name. I might have to steal that for a drawing...bwahaha

Hurr...I'll think of more later...

(Hurn, I tend to post after people...)

There's a movie? Yay! ^ ^ Hm...I don't think it would be rated G...haha. I remember one part in the first book when Katniss is at the Cornicopia (sp?) and she sees some other kid get hit in the back and he spews blood. < score>Yay blood!< /score> Poor kid. But anyways, that's not really G material...

Your right about that analie! and that was sad that he died i would excpect him to live a little longer! I felt really sad when one of katniss allys dies(im not going to say who) and theres is blood there too. well it may be rated pg13. Ms. P are we allowed to see those movies???

We would be allowed to watch a PG-13 movie with permission slips. I don't want you guys to get your hopes up, however; the movie has been optioned, but as Lulu pointed out, that happens all the time and doesn't mean it will actually get made. I do get excited though!

Joel,

Hm...are we talking about the same kid? Hurr...one of my top ten? Yeah, probably; at least top fifteen...^ ^

Mrs. Pulley,

Yes, but it's nice to imagine, yes? XD I'm sure it would be a very interesting movie should it ever made. :)

Oh, I also wanted to mention that another reason this book struck me so much was that this was one of the only books I've ever cried/misted at, next to maybe Letters From Wolfie...not really the killing, but that one part in the first one and then when (insert name here) dies and Katniss does the same motion....where they use the gesture of the three fingers to their lips...I don't know...it struck me as...very sad.

But I'm weird with most emotions and I'm not that sensitive to crying, so it was probably just me...but it kind of stuck out he book against others...

Ooh, I LOVED that "3-finger-kiss" gesture, too! I got a bit misty, myself.

I have to admitted the reason why I loved this book so much is because the range of emotions you go through. I felt like crying in many parts of the story like when (insert name here) dies at the end at the Cornicopia. I felt so many emotions in that part. and i agree when (name) dies, analie...it was very sad.:( I also felt a huge surprise when prim gets picked as a tribute. It was very shoking, and sad. it is like you grow up with these characters and know what thier thinking as if your there. What about the Avox girl? what do you guys think of her?

Well i hope the second book is just as well or better! 8) oh and guys, lets try not to give the main points of the story out ok! I really want other people to read this book because it was really good! Bye! 8)

The Avox girl from the first book? I thought that was interesting- like they knew that Katniss knew her and were trying to conflict her feelings like in book two almost...

What did you guys think of (name) being an Avox in the second book? That caught me by surprise...

Well analie im not there yet i think...sorry. but ill be there soon. one question though, when you win one of the hunger games and become a mentor, do you stay as one forever or untill someone else from your district wins???
