The Alchemyst-- page goal is set!

Hey Bookies!

If you missed the meeting today, you were missed. :) We decided to take an easy start and get a feel for the book. Please read to page 60 (I believe that is to chapter 8-- I don't have a copy yet, so I can't double-check!) by Thursday's meeting. Woohoo for new books! Nathan, I'm so glad you'll be joining us from afar, and yes, a big shout-out to Mr. Goerner and Ms. Hogan!

This book has been great so far! I'm not that far, and I'm already seeing true wisdom jump off the pages!

Where is chapter eight? My copy doesn't have chapter numbers, but is split in two parts... I'm confused!

Hey Nathan,
Chapter 8 begins on p.60 in our books with the sentence, "Dr. John Dee crouched in the back of the car..." It just occured to me that you might have gotten "The Alchemist" instead of "The Alchemyst"!

I confess I'm ahead of the page goal; I've been listening in the car and enjoying it way too much to shut it off. :) I promise to put the breaks on... soon...

Camille, Nathan is a former student who is now over at SC. He's talking about the librarian (Mr. Greiner) and the media clerk (Mrs. Hogan). FYI!

See you guys Thursday. Do your homework I'm about to post!

We talked about reading that one, but a few people already had (there are now 18 people in the club, so choosing books no one has read is getting more and more difficult), but that led us to THIS Alchemyst, which no one had read all the way through, so we jumped on it. And there's the story!
