Summertime Talk!

I'm a little early, but the Cocoa Talk post is full and a lemonade seems more appropriate anyway. :) Here's the first of however many generic posts we need to chat during the summer. Let's talk about what we're reading, what we want to read, movies, music... whatever!

*sigh*, i love and i hate summers.
what i love about them is the fact that i can just lounge around and do nothing. i hate them because i dont get to see my favorite teachers *hint hint, mrs Pulley!* for about 3 months *or maybe it's more like 2 /12 months*. i'm typing this while our printer is printing the summer Math work like crazy *i'm almost sure that this is going to make it run out of ink and paper*. *sigh* well, anyways, i'm glade that there will be a summer post, and i hope to see lots of people that i know in the groceries stores at some point. talk away...

OKAY! where is everybody?!

do people have a blogging-phobia or something?

I fear the blog, for it is out of my comprehension. Who can fathom the almighty Librarian?

Seriously, though, contrary to popular belief, most people do have lives outside of their blogs.

I don't really have a favorite season, but summer is definitely enjoyable. The pool opens, I have more time to read, more opportunities to make money, foliage actually looks alive, and all the motorcycles come out to play.

Life as We Knew It!

congrats, i presume that you guessed correctly.
the new book title is called The Dead and the Gone, it's a companion book to Life as we Knew it. same plot, different people, and this time, we're in New York.
i didn't get it, even though i got the "first" book, since it was in hard cover and over 15$. i little pricey, since i had just spent a bunch over at Mesa Verde a few days ago. just thought you might be interested to know, and maybe you already knew, being a librarian. if you get it, tell me if you think it's as good as the first one, and if you think i should get it.

ciao!

Hi everybody!
I hope everyone is loving their summers so far; I've been very busy but enjoying your blogging immensely.

Analie, I did know the new Pfeffer novel was coming out (check out the Coming to the Library Soon section on the main page!), but I have not read it yet and am not sure when I'll get to it. As you know, I've got a lot of books already mapped out this summer! Feel free to wait until the library has it, as you know I'll make sure I've got it ready to go at the start. :) Also, I did NOT know that a movie version of City of Ember was being made. I haven't read that series, so tell me, is that the first one? I didn't think so, and I am therefore confused as to why they would start there. Clarify please!

Welcome, Kristina! I can't wait to see your new sassy haircut. I bet it is super-cute. :) What are you up to this summer?

Keep up the conversations, folks!
:)

mrs. Pulley!!!

hi! having a fantabulus summer yet? The City of Ember info: okay, it's a little confusing, but, The City of Ember is technically the first book that she wrote for the series. The Peolple of Sparks is the sequel to The City of Ember. the third book in the series, The Prophet of Yonwood *i havn't read that one yet* is a prequel to The City of Ember. i'm pretty sure that that explains alot of stuff. i'm sure that you'de like The City of Ember, but you never know. i loved it, but i'm debating on whether i would read it again. i think i would, so i think i'm going to get it. The People of Sparks, i though wasn't as good as the first book, and like i said, i havn't read The Prophet of Yonwood. i hope this clarified the confusion.

ciao!

Hi Analie,

Thanks for the explanation of City of Ember; I always get those mixed up for some reason. Also, I can't help you with the HTML tags; I always use the pre-written, ready-for-embedding ones!

How's everyone doing? I am playing A LOT of tennis, really getting out there and enjoying the gorgeous weather, and reading like crazy. I'm into 8th Grade Bites right now, which I've got to tell you is not my favorite book. It's okay... but there's nothing outstanding about it if you know what I mean. Not much passion in this book.

What's everyone up to? Anything fun? Any good poolside reads?

:)
