Among the Hidden

maddie t. requested a forum to discuss this book, so here we go! Who out there has read The Shadow Children series? I have not, so I am curious to hear what you think about this series in general and this book in particular. As for a full discussion... get us started, maddie t.!

Oh! This is by Haddix, right? Her books always look really interesting, and have cool premises. What's this one about?

I read this book the summer before sixth grade because i was required to at my old school. i remember it being one of the better ones that i read but i don't think that i really paid attention to it since it was "assigned." so maybe i should reread it so i can take it all in..... :)

P.S. Mrs. Pulley, check out the summer blog....:D

lol ok soo this book is in the future, and each family is only allowed to have 2 kids, and all other 3rd children (shadow children) are killed. The reason for this is beacause of the food in the world, so the 2 children law went into action! This is about a 3rd child, being forced to live in the attic, not allowed to go outside, never has been in a car, never been out of his house (except going outside a couple of times) This little boy then sees a girl....another 3rd child in the neighbors house! He goes to meet her, and it's true! Jen (the girl) Then tells her about a rally that all 3rd children are going to do.....
A very good book!
