This blog is for the Altona Middle School community to locate books of different genres, read and discuss them. It is a forum for Rattler book lovers to share their views!
Okay, so I was talking to Camille yesterday, telling her that The Body and Two Little Girls in Blue tied in our vote, but I didn't think I could get either one of them. I mentioned that what I REALLY want to do right now is re-read The Deathly Hallows before the movie comes out. Camille liked that idea for book club. I put it to the morning crew that hangs out in the library, and they were positively excited. So, but Official Decree, I deem our next book to be HP and the Deathly Hallows. :)
Here's what I need to know from each and every one of you:
1. Are you in for this book? You can skip if you like and rejoin us for the next choice; we're casual that way!
2. If you are in, do you need me to provide a copy of the book? I need to get a count.
The meeting Thursday will be dedicated to making sure everyone has a copy and setting up a page goal, so it should be relatively quick. See you guys then!
I think the Deathly Hallows would be a great choice. I'd love to read Harry Potter. I haven't read the books (But I've seen the movies), would I be missing something important?
Hmm... I put a post about this on the last conversation we were having. I guess I didn't see this one. Oops! Well, I do want to read this and I have my own copy. Can't wait!
dWhile the movies leave quite a bit out, I believe you'll be able to pick up the story in Deathly Hallows quite easily regardless, Mackenzie! And, hopefully, reading the last one will inspire you to go back and read the whole series; the books are SOOOOO much better than the movies. And I love the movies! :)
I have a copy and i love the idea so you do not need to worry about me but this is reallt exiting. I AM POSTING. thank you thank you very much. BY the way nathan the guy who thought of the book exchane was not only a genuis but modest to. :)
I was hoping that Harry Potter would come along! :)
Sadly, though, I'm not on that book quite yet and I'd hate to skip ahead in the series, because I do feel that I'd feel I was missing something. I've only read the first 3 and I'm in the middle of #4. So I won't be joining you - hopefully next time though!
*sigh* Bailee, Nathan. You smart people spelled "genuis" wrong.I admire your geniusness. :D But anyway, Yes, I would love to read Harry Potter 7 again but I don't have a copy. Should I stop and check one out from the library or wait until the next meeting or what?
So I am halfway through the first book and have found out the following:
a. harry is a wizard b. he has done something really great and is really famous c. muggles are not wizards. d. Hagrid is a big dude. e. Nathan is proud to be a raptor!! I love it!!! f. Bailee knows how to blog!! So proud of you. g. that being a Rattler book club member rocks my socks off!!
Don't forget that Dudley has a pig tail! That's probably my favorite part of that book. Do we have a reading goal yet? Or first of all, does everyone have a copy? I know I gave one to Ben...

No worries, Maya! Stop by ASAP and I'll check out a copy to you. :)

As of today, everyone has a copy and we're ready to go!
Nathan, the plan is to do a book exchange. Some genius recommended it.
