Summer is OVER.
Here we are... Back to work. I know you guys have a day to two of sweet sweet summertime left, but I'm back under the fluorescent lights. I can't complain, though; I had a lovely summer! So how is everyone? Analie, you sound fantastic, and I'm jealous of your travels. Let's hear from everyone else! What's new? What have we been reading? I read my six YA books for my class-- Going Bovine (good for you 9th graders, certainly, but a little mature for our collection), Gym Candy (about HS steroid use, very interesting), Fat Cat (chick lit but VERY smart-- loved it!), The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate (good if you're into historical fiction), Fire (companion to Graceling-- liked it very much) and Bystander (quick, interesting read about bullying). Unfortunately, I didn't get anything else read this summer, and I really wanted to get Girl with the Dragon Tattoo under my belt so I can watch the movie. That's what fall is for, I guess!
All right, I have to get back to work, but you guys tell me your plans and what you've been up to!
:)

Sounds like some great books there, Mrs. Pulley. ^^ I just finished Fahrenheit 451, and I was surprised that I didn't like it as much as Things Fall Apart...but I just finished it this morning, so I think I need a little time for it to sink in....
School starts up again tomorrow. Getting up a quarter to six for the occasion. Lovely. Probably means I should be trying to go to sleep right now.
Analie
I've also had a very busy summer, I went to Mexico for a week in June! It was amazing! Lots of sun, lots of pool/ beach time! Then in July I had a soccer camp from 1:30 to 4:00 from Monday to Thursday. It was insanley hot, but I learned a lot from it! Then next week I went to a church camp for a week and had an amazing time!!!! Only down side was I sprained my ankle when we had our day hike, but that towards the end so it wasn't that bad.
Despite the busy summer I still got lots of reading done!I had my bday party in June so I was set for the rest of the summer. All of my friends gave me books, they know me so well! I got Going Bovine from one of my friends and thought it was very interesting. The end was a little confusing, but it definatly gave me a lot to think about. I also read a series by Libba Bray starting with A Great and Terrible Beauty and ending with The Sweet Far Thing. They were very good! Reality with Fantasy thrown in! Then I finished my now favorite series of all time, The series starts with City of Bones, the second one is called City of Ashes, and teh third is called City of Glass. I wanted to read To Kill a Mockingbird, but didn't quite get there. I can't wait until we start meeting again! Oh Mrs. P, do you think we could maybe read Leviathon this year? Can't wait to see you all!
