WOOHOO!

Happy Happy Summer, Everyone! What are we all reading? I am halfway through The Last Olympian, and it is not letting me down. Very fun! I am reading for the same YA Lit class I took last summer, so I will update you guys on the books that I am working on as it happens. I would love to hear what you are reading, too, so comment and let's chat!

Bookies-- a special note to you! I just checked on Netflix, and Inkheart comes out on June 23rd. I still feel horrible that we didn't make it to the theater, but maybe we could plan a day to get together and watch it at the library? I'll bring popcorn and sodas... :) What do you think? I can't make that weekend-- we'll be at a wedding in Delaware-- but maybe later the following week if you guys are interested. Let me know!

:)

    School's...out... for...summer!! Right now I'm reading 4 books:
    Bang! by Sharon G.Flake
    Money Hungry by Sharon G.Flake
    Copper Sun by Sharon Draper
    Bird by Angela Johnson

Each one is unique its own way and interesting. :) Seeing the movie in June sounds cool, and I could probably make it.

  3. Oh I am planning to read the narnia books by next year. But I have a huge reading list this summer! Right now I am reading Cell by Stephen King and I am almost done and it is an ok book (wouldent reccomend it!) I am definately not going to see inkheart for two reasons

    1. I wasn't in the bookclub at that time

    2. I hate Brendan Fraser!

    Happy Summer! :D
Let's see, I'm currently re-reading the Dragon Keeper Series...I love that series, definitly a favorite of mine. I have a huge list that I want to do too....mmmm books!
I can probably come for Inkheart, depending on the day....let's see.....I can't make it from June 8-14th, I will be in North Carolina, or the first week of July (rather not talk about THAT trip! >:( ), and some other time in July for CT.......and if it is a Saturday, I won't make it June 30th, because I have an addition :O so yeah......that's about it though, I would love to see the movie! ^ ^

(Garrison, you should come anyways, just pretend that Brandon is someone else... :P)

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far!

  6. Hey! I'm reading the last Olympian and am half way!

See, what happened was that I did the read-a-thon, and I got almost exactly half way through that book before the school day ended...and all copies are checked out or being held at the public library. The problem with new books!

Cool, I hear it is good... I need to go get a copy for myself....and thanks Nathan! :D

Also, here is a good, but long book suggestion for those of you looking for something to read: The 13 1/2 lives of Captain Bluebear, by Walter Moers. It is a great book, in my opinion. :D It is quit long, but it is exciting and funny, and I thought an overall good read. :) Some parts were a bit slow, but it is great for those who like adventure and fiction/fantasy. I believe it was originally German....

It's pretty good :) Each of his different lives is like a chapter....kind of. Then there are mini chapters within the chapters.....if that makes sense...

  14. Hey Rachael et al!

I'm leaving for Delaware tomorrow for a long weekend/wedding reception, so I'll have lots of reading time. This is a good thing; I'm really stuck in Absolute Brightness, so some intensive plane-reading time will be just the ticket!

When I get back, I'll post for you Bookies out there about when we should get together and watch Inkheart. Hopefully we can pull that off...

Hope you guys are doing great and enjoying summer. The days are really flying by, which makes me very sad. So spoiled. :)

Feel free to post, and we'll chat when I get back!
    :)

    Joel,

Nice, well you are "supposed" to do 4 pages a week, but I don't know anyone who's followed that. *Sniggers* Anyways, you should have enough time.....I think I've done like 10 pages...hehheh.....anyways, I'm not sure about the movie...I haven't heard from Ms. Pulley for a while....and I've seen some stuff about it coming out on DVD, but......I don't know...I've heard mixed reports on it, you know?

    Ciao from Pennstate!

  23. I have a GoodReads account and use it occasionally, Garrison! I haven't been on there in a long time, though... I guess this blog has kind of taken over for me; plus, my adult friends seem to have stopped using it, now that I think of it. I haven't gotten any updates from them in a while!

  24. Oh, and yes Analie, very mixed reviews on the Inkheart movie-- I told you guys as much when it hit the theater. I thought it would still be fun, though!
