Hey Rattler Readers!
Exciting news on the Inheritance front-- here is the cover art and title of #3! Also, please note that the date has been moved up a little. The title above is hyperlinked, so feel free to click on it to go to Paolini's website. There you can read the full press release about Brisingr, #3 in the now four-part series.
Who's looking forward to it?

I still think the title is kind of weird. I thought the title would be something like this: E _ _ _ _ _
Oh well I still like it. it is just like that one spell in the first book. the one for fire.
You're right about the spell name, anonymous-- do we think there might be a dragon with that name as well? Any thoughts, people?

Yeah, the title should go with everything, like 6 letters starting with an E.
I don't think that a dragon's name would be the name of a spell. They all have non-magical names. Saphira and the other dragon, their names are normal. I still think that the author should've made the name Stasrt as an E and end with 5 other letters, like Empire.
The dragon on the cover looks kind of like what I imagine Glaedr would look like, a golden dragon
The dragon may not be known as "Brisingr"--CP did say that this particular spell, or word, would have more significance in the third book than what Eragon first thought.
There has been a trend with the six-letter-e-starting titles, but with the remaining two books, the two word that CP would choose to continue would most likely be "Empire" or "Endure", neither of which really makes sense to the storyline.
And yes, the golden dragon indeed is Glaedr. John Jude Palancer (and yes, Palancar valley is named after him), the illustrator, drew it for the special edition of Eldest, but now they are using it for the cover of the third book.
And to answer Mrs. P's question, I personally cannot wait for the release because I really want to see how much CP has improved. ;)
As usual, everchanging has brought a lot of information to the table-- thanks! :) You do some work for an Inheritance website, correct? Which one is it again? Inquiring minds want to know!
I do believe I am going to have to re-read Eldest before Brisingr comes out; reading all of your comments brings back fuzzy memories... large, golden dragons, fire spells... Luke Skywalker...

Just asking but is brisingr an old norse word for fire? I tried searching for it on the internet but that didn't work out that well.
I'm kind of disappointed though, I was all excited to find out the identity of the third dragon rider untill I saw the picture of Glaedr. It's probably very likely the third rider's indentity will only be revealed in the 4th book now since it showed Glaedr, not a new dragon
Also, Mrs. Pulley, you should update the new books coming to the library soon list. Brisingr is still being labeled as Inheritance Vol. III, not Brisingr
Update is done. :) Thanks!
I did a quick Yahoo! search for "brisingr and Norse", and came up with the Inheriwiki, which I assume is dedicated to all things Inheritance. Here's what it had to say:
"Christopher Paolini has stated that brisingr was the first word of Old Norse that he found when investigating potential magic words, and he liked it so much he decided to base the entire Ancient Language vocabulary on it. He also claims brisingr as his favorite Ancient Language word. In the game, "brisingr" is the only spell with an Old Norse name."
Hope that helps!

I am so excited!!!!! I can't wait for the book to come out. Ever since I started reading the seires, I couldn't wait for the 3rd one to come out. But sadly I have forgotten much of the story and spells, dragons, etc. :( I have to be sure I have enough time to re-read both books in time for the third one! I can only remember parts of the story but everything else is just like a big fuzzy cloud...
Couldn't agree with you more, book lover--
I too can barely remember anything at all from Eldest in particular. I read it really quickly, so I need to go back and spend some time in it before Brisingr comes out. Sounds like a good summertime task!

To those who wanted to know:
I "work" for Shurtugal.com--more specifically, the fanfiction part of that site. It's an "unofficial" site, but we're practically CP's official site, since there is more stuff on there than alagaesia.com. You might not see me around this time of the year, since school work has decided to swallow me up. XD
Also, activity has been pretty stagnant since the movie two years.
I think that the coer is great, AND I JUST CAN'T WAIT UNTIL IT COMES OUT! I ALREADY HAVE IT PERORDERED! HA!
I can't wait for the new book
i loved the firdt two books this one should b good
Hey, does anybody know how to get this book before it comes out? Thanks!
Interesting question... I doubt it is going to be easy to pull off finding this early! Good luck.
